JUBILEE PARK

Public BBQ

Jubilee Park in Culcairn proved to be one of those delightfully unpretentious country barbecue areas that gets everything right without trying too hard. The undercover picnic tables provided welcome relief from the NSW sun, while the kids made immediate friends with the playground equipment. What struck me most was the thoughtful layout - everything you need within easy reach, including clean toilets that didn't require a cross-country hike. Parking was abundant, which is always appreciated when you're juggling eskies and excited children. It's the sort of place where you arrive for a quick lunch and find yourself lingering well into the afternoon, watching the locals go about their day. The barbecue facilities were well-maintained, and there's something deeply satisfying about cooking outdoors in such a relaxed setting. Culcairn might not make many tourist brochures, but Jubilee Park captures exactly what makes regional Australian towns special.
